What are the Three Principles?
The Three Principles point to something very simple about being human:
Mind — the universal intelligence or life force behind all living things. It is seen as the source of our innate capacity for wisdom, resilience, and well-being. Mind is not something we have to create or acquire; it is considered to be present within everyone.
Consciousness — is our capacity to be aware and to experience life. It allows us to notice our thoughts, feelings, sensations, and surroundings. Without consciousness, thoughts would have no felt experience—they would simply be mental activity without awareness of them.
Thought — is the creative power through which we experience life. At any moment, our thoughts give form and meaning to what is happening, creating our personal experience of circumstances. Because thoughts are constantly changing, our experience can change too—even when the external circumstances remain the same.
In simple terms: Mind provides the intelligence, Consciousness allows us to experience, and Thought creates the content of our experience.
Together, they offer a way of understanding why our experience can change so dramatically, even when our circumstances haven't.
You don't have to believe any of this.
You don't even have to understand it intellectually.
The interesting question is whether you can begin to see it for yourself.
